Canada’s senior population is growing rapidly, with 6.8 million seniors (65+) representing 18.5% of the population in 2021, expected to reach 25% by 2036 (Statistics Canada, 2021).

Many face financial challenges, with 13.3% living below the low-income measure (Canadian Survey on Disability, 2017) and 1 in 5 food bank users in Canada were seniors.

Help & Feed, powered by Saidham Food Bank, is committed to supporting these individuals with food assistance and essential services.

About Seniors & Disabled Program

Since 2012, Help & Feed’s Seniors & Disabled Grocery Delivery Program has supported 3,241 seniors with culturally and medically appropriate grocery hampers delivered directly to their doorsteps – ensuring that vulnerable seniors and disabled individuals across the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area (GTHA) receive the nutritious food they deserve.

Who We Serve

Seniors (65 and above) facing challenges related to finances or mobility.
All individuals with physical disabilities, regardless of age.
Individuals with mobility challenges who receive government support, like ODSP.
Currently, we are able to serve only those residing in Ontario.

Help & Feed’s Seniors and Disabled Grocery Program is designed to provide comfort, promote health, and offer peace of mind to seniors and individuals with disabilities, allowing them to focus on what truly matters in their lives.

What’s Inside Each Monthly Hamper

Each hamper is thoughtfully packed to address diverse dietary needs and provide comfort and reassurance. Our hampers include:

Non-Perishable Items: Essential pantry staples.
Hygiene Products: Personal care essentials.
Perishable Goods: Fresh dairy, produce, bakery items, and deli meats to ensure balanced nutrition.

Registration Process

Follow these steps to get the hamper delivered to your doorstep:

Our Customer Service Executive will take your deatils and verify your eligibility.

Submit supporting documents required for registration

Processing takes 48-72 hours. Once approved, our team will coordinate with you for monthly deliveries.
