Right now, a child is sitting in school
stomach growling, unable to concentrate.
According to Food Banks Canada's 2024 report, nearly 30% of food bank users are under the age of 17. These are children who come to school without breakfast, who fall asleep in class, who struggle to make friends because hunger makes everything harder.
It's not a distant problem. It's happening in Mississauga, Brampton, Etobicoke — in your neighbourhood. Behind every statistic is a child who deserves the same chance as every other kid in their classroom.
"A hungry child cannot learn. A child who cannot learn cannot grow. And a generation that cannot grow cannot build the future we all share."
Consistent hunger — even just over a few mornings — can set a child back for life:
In 2014, a group of volunteers noticed something heartbreaking: children in Malton, Mississauga were arriving at school without having eaten anything. With determination and community support, the Help & Feed Children's Healthy Breakfast Program was born. Ten years later, powered by the Shah Family Foundation and an army of dedicated volunteers, we nourish over 4,000 children every month across the Peel Region.
Educators and principals across the Peel Region see the difference a nourishing breakfast makes — not just in the lunchroom, but in every classroom, every day.

We believe every child deserves to eat the same way — with variety, freshness, and joy. That's why our hampers aren't generic food parcels. They're carefully curated, tailored to what children actually eat and need, packed by volunteers who care about every single item inside.
Families receive a fresh hamper each week, stocked with items that support a complete breakfast — from dairy proteins to whole grain carbohydrates and fresh produce.
Nutritionally balanced by design. Every hamper is assembled with developing minds and bodies in mind — providing the essential vitamins, proteins, and energy children need to engage fully in learning and life.
