Mississauga/IBNS: With the support of the Consulate General of India, Toronto, and presented by ICICI Bank Canada’s Indian@Heart Club in partnership with Tourism Mississauga, Panorama India announced a historic event India Day Drive-Thru Parade 2021 to be held on Sunday, August 15, 2021, at the Paramount Fine Foods Centre in Mississauga from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm.
“I am excited to see Panorama India put such an event together that is safe and brings out our community to celebrate this auspicious occasion,” said Hon. Apoorva Srivastava, Consul General of India in Toronto, in a press release.
The event is free to the public and all are invited to experience India from the safety of their cars. A pre-registration link would be shared with the larger community at the end of July to access and register their cars. The event will be tied to a food drive and all attendees will be asked to bring a food donation that can be dropped off at the entrance for pick-up by the food banks, which will support both Seva Food Bank and Sai Dham Foodbank.

The “Best Parade Float competition” would be announced by public voting, a link for which will go live on the day of the Parade, Sunday, August 15th.

“When you attend you will be able to see live performances from the States of India from the safety of your car. This will be a different but fun experience” shared Anusha Iyer, Director of Programming at Panorama India, in the press release.
In addition, the event will be live-streamed directly to the 24-27 Digital Media partners across Canada, the US, and India. “We want to ensure, whether it is in person or at home, you can experience the India Day 2021 celebrations with us” stated Sanjay Agarwal, Vice-Chair, Sponsorship and Vendor Management at Panorama India, in the press release.
Panorama India is also pleased to announce that it will be celebrating India Day from August 1 – August 22 with several virtual, online events in addition to the in-person India Day Drive Thru Parade and is excited to launch the India Day Virtual Expo to be held on Sunday, August 8th, 2021, from 10:00 am – 5:00 pm, an online marketplace for vendors from Canada and India.
“The online marketplace will allow the community to chat live at online booths with unique vendors serving our community and also watch live webinars conducted by our vendors” stated Arun Chauhan, Director of Digital Technology at Panorama India, in the press release.

In addition, the Live Virtual Art Competition presented by our sponsor Colour Happy for children ranging from kindergarten to Grade 9 will be conducted on Saturday, August 7th and a secure and private link would be available for all registered children to access the live competition.
